Rules and limitations of electric scooters
The rules on the use of electric scooters in the city continue to change and in all probability, they will not stop doing it, but what is the situation today? They have been compared to bicycles and we knew this, the latest news is instead:
The children under 14 cannot drive them, while the helmet for minors is mandatory (and highly recommended in any case).
Maximum power cannot be greater than 500 Watts: fines can go from 100 to 800 Euros, plus confiscation of the vehicle.
Speed limit: 25 km / h on the roadway (the roads, to be clear, with a limit of 50) which, however, become 6 km / h in the pedestrian areas, while on extra-urban roads the use of the electric scooter is allowed only on the special tracks cycling.
It is forbidden to transport other people (objects or animals), to tow or be towed. The insurance requirement also applies to shared scooters (through a resolution of the city council).
As for the "how": you can proceed in a single row and any case never side by side with more than one scooter. A reflective vest (or reflective braces) is mandatory in the evening hours, with the vehicle lights on.
